| Formulation |
The sterile filtered solution was lyophilized
from 3mM Tris, pH 8.5.
|
| Reconstitution |
We recommend a quick
spin followed by reconstitution in water to a concentration
of 0.1-0.5mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other
aqueous buffers and stored at 4 degree Celsius for 1 week or
-20 degree Celsius for future use. |
| Storage |
The lyophilized protein
is stable for a few weeks at room temperature, but best stored
at -20 degree Celsius. Reconstituted M-CSF should be stored
in working aliquots at -20 degree Celsius. |
| Purity |
Greater than 98% SDS-PAGE
and HPLC analyses. |
| Biological
Activity |
The ED50
was determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation
of mouse M-NSF-60 cells is >= 10 ng/mL, corresponding to
a specific activity of <=1 x 10^5 units/mg. |
| Description |
Macrophage Colony Stimulating
Factor (M-CSF) is produced by various cell types, including
fibroblasts, macrophages and endothelial cells. This colony
stimulating factor is involved in both the development and function
of monocytes/macropahges. Human M-CSF is a disulfide-linked
homodimer composed of 18.4kD subunits of 158 amino acid residues. |
