Source E.Coli
Formulation

The protein was lyophilized after extensive dialysis against 5 mM Tris buffer pH 8

Storage Lyophilized Recombinant Human TNF-alpha, although stable at room temperature, should be stored desiccated below 0 degree Celsius. Reconstituted Recombinant Human TNF-alpha is best stored refrigerated at 4 degree Celsius.
Purity Greater that 99.0% determined by
a) Analysis by RP-HPLC
b) anion-exchange FPLC
c) Analysis by reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE Silver Stained.
Biological Activity Recombinant Human TNF-alpha is fully biologically active when compared to standard. The ED50 as determined by the cytolysis of murine L929 cells in the presence of Actinomycin D is <= 0.05ng/mL, corresponding to a Specific Activity of 2.2x10^7 IU/mg.
Description Recombinant Human TNF-alpha produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 158 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 17483.77 Dalton. The Recombinant Human TNF-alpha is purified b y standard chromatographic techniques.
Endotoxcin Less than or equal to 0.1ng/ug (IEU/ug)
Physical Appearance Sterile filtered white lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
Solubility The lyophilized TNF-alpha is very soluble in water and most aqueous buffers below and above isoelectric point (pI-7.44).
Amino Acid Composition In total agreement with the expected amino acid composition of native human TNF-alpha.
Amino Acid Sequence The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined and was found to be Met-Val-Arg-Ser-Ser, confirming the sequence of native human TNF-alpha.
